Marcus had his first portrait shoot last week. I have photographed his parents wedding a few years ago and now with Christmas just around the corner, mum thought it would a good idea to have some photographs of Marcus taken whilst he was still in his nappies. We chose a small area in the park surrounded by natural bushland as the perfect backdrop.
Photographing children, well in this case a baby, is a lot of fun. Their unpredictable nature, their natural curiosity and their mood always keeps me on my toes and alert. Each portrait shoot that I do that involves very young kids I always view as an exciting challenge and personal achievement. Why is that? Because unlike my wedding clients where I can communicate my ideas to my couples, it’s the kids that can dictate the shoot. The younger they are the more in charge of the day they are. The fun challenge for me is that I always adjust the way I photograph to make sure I still deliver great pictures for the parents.
Marcus was a joy to shoot. He was in a great and happy mood on the day and we managed to get three wardrobe changes without so much a fuss.
After one hour and a great teamwork with Mum I was happy with what was captured. I know that some of these photos will be displayed beautifully in their homes.
